Payment in cash, personal check, money order, and bank check will be accepted. NO CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS are accepted.

3). Pay by Drop box: There is a drop box to the right of the front door to the building. Please make sure you push up on the lid until it clicks, then you can slide the slot open. Fines can be paid by placing personal check, or money order and the blue copy of your citation in an envelope labeled: Mayor’s Court.

II. Contest the Citation: One can contest or disagree with the citation by appearing in Mayor’s court on the date and time circled below on this sheet (and written on your citation). You must enter a plea of “Not Guilty” once your case is heard. If you enter this plea the Waynesburg Mayor’s Court WILL NOT adjudicate (or decide) your case and the case is transferred to the Canton Municipal Court, located at 218 Cleveland Avenue SW, Canton, OH,  (330) 489-3184. No comments or testimony will be heard or considered once this plea is entered, the case is decided in the Canton Municipal Court. A court date will be assigned and transfer paperwork must be signed.

III. Appear in Mayor’s Court and enter other plea: You may appear in Mayor’s Court and enter a plea of “No Contest”. You are not admitting guilt, but wishing no further court action and you agree to pay the fine and court costs. A guilty plea may be entered and citation paid during you appearance in court.

If you do not remedy your citation by one of the above options (I-III) you may be subject to any or all of the following circumstances: You will be found guilty of contempt of court and maybe subject to a monetary fine, a bench warrant may be issued for your arrest, your driver’s license and driving privileges maybe forfeited and the registrar of the Bureau of Motor vehicles notified in accordance with the provisions outlined in sections 2935.26 and 2935.27 of the Ohio Revised Code, also in accordance with same sections,  any application for transfer of registration of any motor vehicle owned or leased by you will not be accepted by the registrar.

Proof of Insurance: Ohio Law requires that every motorist cited for a traffic violation to show valid proof of insurance. If you did not show the officer proof of insurance, you are required to enclose a photocopy of your current insurance card or bring your proof of insurance with you to Mayor’s Court. Failure to do so may result in revocation of driver privileges by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
